As a principal network engineer, primary responsibilities include the design, engineering, deployment, and management of a 6000 node ethernet network. Environment includes FORE Systems ATM equipment, Cisco routing equipment, Compaq enterprise-class servers running Novell and NT, and SUN servers.

Network community consists of about 1,000 internal users with remote users located in at least 20 major cities throughout the world. ONRHQ is mostly a Microsoft shop.

Resident at NAVAIR, Crystal City, VA. (U.S. Naval Air Systems Command HQ)

Network Administration/Engineering and PC/Macintosh Support (Hardware and Software) for the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Technologies Support Desk (AIR-7.2.4). Testing of new systems and software before deployment. Creation of HTML code for various projects. Training customers in the use of NAVAIR software suites. Network community consists of about 3,600 internal users.

Secondary Responsibilities and Special Projects include:

Sharing of management position (Operations Duty Officer) with other team leaders of the various support coordinating and assigning work orders to technicians. Testing full Internet access schemes and deploying these to all personnel in PC environments. Assisted in evaluating network operating systems upgrades and developing deployment plans. Performed initial test installations of Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 Server and Workstation and currently provide full support for desktop and laptop systems.
